| Admission Procedure/Eligibility Criteria | International students need to apply to BU through "Common Application" procedure. International students considering the undergraduate programs in the university should have completed 12 years of formal secondary school education. Candidates applying for postgraduate programs should have completed 12+4 years of bachelors program or its equivalent. All applicants need to produce their school leaving transcripts, documents of all examinations passed, valid passport, documents of financial support to meet the program expenses, and a valid student visa from the US consulate. If the primary language is not English, international students need to qualify in an English proficiency test, IELTS or TOEFL. The minimum score required for IELTS is 7. The minimum score required by the university is 600 (paper-based exam) for School of Management, College of Communication, and College of General Studies. For other BU programs, the minimum score required is 550. For internet-based TOEFL, the minimum score in each of four sections required for different BU programs are as follows: College of Engineering, College of Arts & Sciences, School of Hospitality Administration, School of Education, College of Fine Arts, and College of Health & Rehabilitation Sciences:

| Scholarships / Financial Aid | The university recognizes outstanding merit through its various scholarships and merit awards. Some of the scholarships are -
Apart from academic performance, the university also offers awards and scholarships to artists, athletes, and performers in various fields. Some of these scholarships are nominated by the high schools while for some, students have to apply. International students generally have to arrange for funds from their respective countries, however, they can also apply for a tuition fee waive-off. Though the merit awards or other scholarships are generally for the US citizens, in some exceptional cases these are also offered to eligible non-citizens. International students with overall outstanding academic performance can receive the Presidential Scholarship, which amounts to $20,000. | Placements | The university has a student employment office, which offers more than hundred part time jobs during the academic year. Summer special jobs are also available.
