The Mizoram University in Aizawl, Mizoram came into existence on 2nd July, 2001 and is a Central University. The University campus is located in a breathtakingly beautiful place called Tanhril surrounded by lush green hills on all sides. The campus area has been given on lease by the Government of Mizoram, to the University.
Currently, the University has in its fold 29 under-graduate colleges and 2 professionally managed institutes. The University aims to spread knowledge by aiding development and research facilities in strategic branches of learning which includes natural and social sciences, forestry and other brances of study. The Mizoram University presently has 4 schools and 18 departments under its jurisdiction.The academic session in this University starts in July and students can start making applications in the month of May. |
