Bharati Vidyapith, presently known as Bharati Vidyapith University, founded by Dr. Patangrao Kadam in 1964 has one of the largest chain of institutions running under it. It presently has a network of about 140 institutions. Major campuses are located in Pune, Navi Mumbai, New Delhi, Kolhapur, Sangli. It has several institutions ranging from schools to Medical and Engineering colleges running under it. In 1996, twelve colleges were brought under the BVU Deemed University. Five more colleges were added to this list later on.
