The origin of Janardan Rai Nagar Vidyapeeth University or JRN University as it now popularly known can be traced back to 1937 when the Rajasthan Vidyapeeth was established by Pandit Janardan Rai Nagar. From being a study center for teaching Hindi to the common people, Rajasthan Vidyapeeth has come a long way and today it is has become one of the major centers of learning in Rajasthan for regular and distance learning courses. For the quality education that JRN University is providing over the years, it was granted the status of the Deemed University in the year 1987. It has enabled the Janardan Rai Nagar Vidyapeeth University to provide some very innovative professional courses to the students.

Courses at JRN Vidyapeeth University:
There are five faculties in the Janardan Rai Nagar Vidyapeeth Deemed University. They are- the faculty of arts and commerce, faculty of science, Faculty of management, faculty of computer science and faculty of medical science.
The faculty of arts and Commerce offers M.A courses in Economics, Political Science, History, Sociology, English and Education. It also offers Master of Social Work, Master of Commerce, Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Social Work, Diploma in Arts & Craft, Certificate in Nursery Education, Preparatory course for arts, Preparatory course for commerce,
The Faculty of Management of JRN Vidyapeeth University offers MBA courses in Finance, Marketing, Human Resource Management and Pharmaceutical Management. Apart from these MBA courses, it also offers Postgraduate Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism Management, Bachelor of Business Management and Diploma in Fire and Safety Management.
The Faculty of Computer Science offers Master of Science in Computer Science, Information Technology, Multimedia and Computer Application. It also offers Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Application, Post Graduate Diploma in Information Technology, Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Bachelor of Science in Hardware Technology, Bachelor of Science in Multimedia, Bachelor of Computer Application, Diploma in Computer Hardware Technology, Diploma in Software Technology, Diploma in information Technology, Certificate in Mechanic of four Wheeler, Certificate in Mechanic of Mobile Repairing, Certificate in Information Technology, Certificate Program in Maths.
The Faculty of Medical Science of JRN University offers courses in Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Pathology/Research, Bachelor of Science in Medical lab Technology, Diploma in Medical Radiography Technology, Diploma in Veterinary Pharmacy, Diploma in Veterinary & Livestock Development Assistant, Diploma in optometry, Diploma in Medical Lab Technology, Advance Certificate in Medical lab Technology, Certificate in Medical lab Technology, Certificate in Primary Nursing management, Certificate in Community Health Worker, Certificate Program in Biology, Diploma in Multi-Purpose Health Worker.

The faculty of Science offers courses in Master of Science in Maths, Master of Science in Physics, Bachelor of Science in Fashion Designing, Bachelor of Science in Interior Designing, Bachelor of Science in Jewellery Designing and B.Sc. degree.
Apart from offering theses courses, JRN University also allows lateral entry in certain selected courses. The distance education programmes have also won one time approval of the Distance Education Council of India.
Conclusion: The JRN University was established primarily to help the common people of India getting education and employment and therefore the course fee at the JRN University is kept reasonable so that a large section of the population in India can afford it.
