MNIT was established in 1962 as a joint venture of the government of India and Government of Rajasthan. Prof. V.G. Garde was a doyen in metamorphosing the college to an internationally renowned institute.

Eligibility Criterion for undergraduate courses:
For B. Tech course the eligibility is a pass in class 12 from a recognized board with physics chemistry,mathematics.
Eligibility for M. Tech courses:
- Candidates having AMICHE,AMMIM, Graduation IETE,AMIE,AMIS.. with minimum 60% marks (55% for SC,ST category).
- Candidates who have B. Sc. or Diploma in relevant branch of Engineering and have at least three years research, teaching or other professional experience in relevant field, can apply for admission to M. Tech.
Eligibility for MBA:
The candidate should obtain B. Tech degree in engineering, agriculture, pharmacy or possess M. Sc in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, statistics.
Eligibility for P.hd:
The candidate should secure 60% marks in Post graduation level in the desired stream with a flair for research .
Admission Procedure:
- The admission to B. Tech course is carried out by AIEEE exam conducted by C.B.S.E.
- The admission to M. Tech program is based upon the GATE scores, with minimum score of 300 for general candidates and 200 for SC,ST.
- The admission to MBA and M. Sc is based upon the merit list of the entrance exam and the percentage of the qualifying exam.
Post graduate programs(full time and part time ) are offered in the following subjects:
