Courses Offered at National Brain Research Center & their Eligibility Criteria
Ph.D. in Neuroscience
- To get admission in Ph.D. programmes, you should have a Master's degree in any of the science related subjects like, Pharmacy, Mathematics, Veterinary Science, Psychology and others.
- Master's degree in Engineering, Technology, and Medicine is also accepted.
- If you are appearing for the final year exam of Master’s Degree, you are eligible to apply.
Integrated Ph.D. in Neuroscience
- You need to have a Bachelor's degree in any field of Science like, Biology, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Applications, Pharmacy, Veterinary Science, Psychology, and others.
Post Doctoral Fellowship
- Having a Ph.D. degree in any branch of Science such as Engineering, Maths, Psychology and any subject related to the Neuroscience is necessary if you want to sit in the entrance test.
Application Procedure at National Brain Research Center
- If you are using on-line registration facility you have to submit applications online and send the demand draft and photocopies of the certificates by post. The documents should be furnished with a copy of acknowledgement of the online application.
- You can collect the application forms from the Academics Section, NBRC in person. To get the form by post, a demand draft of Rs.50 has to be sent, drawn in favor of Director, NBRC payable at Manesar / Gurgaon.
- The duly-filled in forms along with copies of qualifying examination, one passport size photograph and application fee are to be sent to the Registrar, National Brain Research Centre, NH-8, Manesar - 122050.
- Application Fee is Rs.750 for online and Rs.850 for offline application. The SC / ST candidates have to pay Rs.200 in the form of demand draft by the 3rd week of January.
- Incomplete application forms are considered rejected.
Entrance Test
- You don’t have to appear for the entrance test if you have qualified for JRF (Junior Research Fellowship) in CSIR, UGC, ICMR or any other national examination.
- The entrance tests for both Ph.D. and Integrated Ph.D. programmes are conducted in the last week of February.
Bangalore, Delhi, Kolkata and Pune are the main test centers for the exam.
- The question paper contains Multiple Choice Analytical questions.
- If you are Short-listed after the Entrance Test, you have to appear in the two tier interview at NBRC. Selection will be based on performance in the interview.
