Durgabai Deshmukh College of Special Education

The Blind relief association was the main workforce behind the establishment of Durgabai Deshmukh College of Special Education in 2006 for the visually challenged students. Named after the former President and mentor of the association Dr. Durgabai Deshmukh, this college offers one-year degree of Bachelor of Education (Special Education for visually impaired) course.

The course is affiliated to the prestigious University of Delhi. The College grants admission to 20 students every year. Besides having experienced teachers, the college has a developed infrastructure including a resource room, library and computer labs.

The college offers B.Ed. (Special Education for Visually Impaired) course which is recognized by Delhi University.

Application Procedure at Durgabai Deshmukh College of Special Education



If you are wiling to apply for the B.Ed. (Special Education for Visually Impaired) course, you need to buy the Prospectus and Application forms from the 3rd week of April 2008.

The cost of the application forms and prospectus is Rs.150 (Rupees One hundred fifty only).

The application forms and prospectus can be obtained by post by sending a Bank Draft of Rs.175/- (Rupees One Hundred seventy five only) drawn in favor of ‘The Blind Relief Association, Delhi’.

The completed applications are to be submitted by the 2nd week of May 2008.


To be noted

This is a quite a different and a noble initiative taken by the blind relief association to establish College of Arts for the visually impaired students. The college shares the same premises with JPM Senior Secondary School for Blind, which is a practicing school.
