Kamla Nehru College, Delhi Kamala Nehru College was founded on 20th July 1964 and was originally known as the “Government College for Women” located in Defense Colony. Initially the college offered courses only in the Arts Stream and later went on to include Commerce stream as well. Dr. K.K. Gorowara was the founder Principal of the Kamala Nehru College. The College started out with only 16 staff members and in the first batch in 1968, there were 209 pass-outs. Since its inception Kamala Nehru College has been dedicated to the empowerment of women in every sphere of life. In addition to regular academic activities, students also partake in various co-curricular activities at this college.
Courses Offered at Kamla Nehru College
Kamla Nehru College offers a Masters Degree program in English, History, Philosophy, Political Science, Hindi and Sanskrit.
The Bachelors Honors degree course is offered in English, Mathematics, Economics, Geography, History, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, Hindi, Sanskrit and Sociology.
In addition to the B.A honors degrees the other courses offered include B.A. Vocational Studies, Journalism (Hons), B.Com (Hons) and B.Com (Pass).
