The IIT Delhi Library System constitutes a Central Library as well as 18 departmental libraries. The Central Library was originally setup in the year1961 have been shifted to its new building since May, 1988. All these libraries together support teaching, research and extension programs of the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi. The library facilities are available to every student, faculty members and Institute employees upon taking library membership. In addition to having a huge collection of books on engineering, humanities and science, the IIT Delhi Library also provides services through its various divisions.

IIT Delhi Library Service Hours
The IIT Delhi Library is open to students, employees and faculty members from Monday to Friday between 9.00 am to 9.00 pm.
The Textbook Section of the library remains operational throughout the opening hours on all days.
On Saturday, Sundays and Holidays only the referral services are extended and the Library operates on less staff. |

Collection at IIT Delhi Library
The IIT Delhi Library subscribes to 580 current journals and has a good collection of books on science and technology including physics, chemistry, mathematics, civil engineering, chemical engineering, computer science, electronics and electrical engineering, biochemical and biomedical engineering and textile engineering. In addition the library at IIT Delhi also has a rich collection of books in the subjects of humanities and social sciences.
