Pt. Sunderlal Sharma Open University (PSSOU) is a very young university in the state of Chhattisgarh. Established by the Chhattisgarh legislature in 2005, the primary objective of this open university in Chhattisgarh is to democratize the system of higher education by improving its access to the remotest part of the state. Therefore the University is aptly named after Pandit Sunderlal Sharma, the “Gandhi of Chhattisgarh” who is known for his patriotism and work for the upliftment of the marginalized sections of the society. PSSOU has jurisdiction all over Chhattisgarh and seeks to use latest technology for effective communication.
